Strange looking beasts, aren't they! They have been at Blunham Lake for a couple of years now but can often be hard to pick out of the Wigeon flock. I think they could be hybrid Wigeon x Gadwall. Any other opinions on their identification welcome.

ReplyDeleteThe interesting thing is that at least one of these birds is already ringed, Errol. I have let Arnold know about them but were unknown to him. I wonder if they have been mis-id'd in the hand?
