Arctic wanderers

I always enjoy the challenge of digiscoping birds in flight. These Arctic Terns at Broom were fairly difficult, but I'm happy with the two efforts above. 15th April 2010.

Mipit

A fairly grey individual - a migrant from the north, or a local? Meadow Pipit, Derek Whites Eggs pit, 14th April 2010.

Willy Wobbler

The real sign of spring - a singing Willow Warbler. Broom, 13th April 2010

My crest is on fire

Always stunning, this Firecrest is just down the road from my house at the moment.

Boom! Shake, shake, shake the room

Bittern, Minsmere, Suffolk, 31st March 2010. A fitting finale to a superb early spring days birding on the Suffolk coast. Lesser Kestrel, Great Grey Shrike, Pallid Swift, Alpine Swift, Black Redstart, 3 Firecrests, 10 White Wagtails, Water Pipit, 16+ Med Gulls, and this bird can't be bad...
